Getting your blog out there

Blogs are both fun to read and fun to write, but there is no point in writing posts, if no one is reading it. A blog is meant to be read by others and commented on. It builds a quality interaction between both the blogger and reader. Once you have created your blog and made some posts, you want to get it noticed by others. You can simply start by letting your friends and colleagues know about it. Word of mouth is a great way by which businesses make money, and you can use it to promote your blog. Now, when it comes to blog promotion, there are tons of ways which you can do it. You can buy your way through to people, or you can let it all happen by itself. The later choice may sound a bit surprising, but it is true and it works. Tons of blogs have gained massive amounts of traffic and readership without spending a dime, and the reason is content. If you have interesting content, people will be more likely to talk about your blog. If they like your sense of writing style and topic you choose to write about, they will link to your website as well. This ultimately will bring in traffic to your website.

Let’s take a look at how blogs evolved, into our modern day scene. In the early 1990’s, individuals who had a domain name, hosting account from their ISP and the necessary HTML skills created their own personal websites. These pages were mainly for entertainment purposes and they would write about themselves. These websites only contained a linked HTML page and images, which is what a webpage really was. Web hosting companies were very limited, so people had to obtain hosting from their internet service provider. Later, companies and programmers worked together to create a software which would make the “web publishing scene” a whole lot easier for users. These programs did not require any HTML or coding skills, as everything was automatically done. If you had to input a picture, you would only need to supply the link to the image or upload the image to the web server.

Linking to other web pages will help you out as well. When you link to other blogs and websites, you should be receiving a link back. When people visit those pages, they will click through and land on your blog. Once they read through your content and if they like it, you can be assured that they will be a returning visitor. The internet is made up of pages interlinked to other pages; this is how the websites work on the internet. One way links are when, you receive a link to your blog, without you having to supply a link to that site. It may sound awkward to have links to other sites, without having a link back, but this could be beneficial for you. The more resources you have on your site, the more reputable your page will be for having these resources.

I have been admiring this girl for almost one year now, she is everything i ever wanted and we have so much in common. She is quite popular on the internet at her own site and adoreded, maybe even loved by many people. though she lives 350km away from me(yes, im quite an investigator), i plan to ask her to come with me to her favourite bands gig which is at our countrys capital (i dont live there, nor does she), so after that i plan to ask her to hang out with me. afterwards i plan to ask her this if she starts talking about it:

    – …but’,< you are adored in your blog by so many people
    (expectation:) – aww thanks
    – Even i like you
-(she realises why im getting towards her and then our relationship will hopefully move towards better)

I just saw dream about the end situation last night and it went fairly well in my opinion (but before this conversation her friend encouraged her to talk to me (i was probably hanging out with her and her friend))

So, what you think? Am i being too future oriented or will this work?

It would be great if I could post text and pics to the blog from my cell (iPhone). Maybe even video??

I’m new at the whole blog thing, so it really would need to be free and pretty easy to use.

I want to blog about issues I don’t want associating with my ‘work’ self. How do I choose a blog host that has a good anonymity record, in other words, I don’t want it to be easy for people to match up my IP address or access my personal details.
Also, having set the blog up, how do you encourage high volume visitors?
I’ve only used LJ before and I want to try something a bit different, but anonymity is the biggest issue for me. Would welcome suggestions of good free blog hosts.

I know how to reblog to my second blog already. But whenever i reblog something to it, on the notes on the original post it shows up as my main blog. I know I sound like an idiot and confusing.

So basically I reblog something to my fitness blog and I go look on the original post and it says
“mypersonalblog” reblogged this post but I want it to say “myfitnessblog” reblogged this post.

Does that make sense and is that even possible?

I wanted to leave tips (money) for some blogs, but few blogs seem to have this feature.

Maybe it was the fees consuming most of the payment. Or the hassle of getting payment data from readers.

So I thought about it, and created a new payments system tailored for blogs.
Let readers pay their choice amount in seconds flat.

I thought there was a market out there- What do you think?

I just made a blog to get my feelings out kind of like a diary. There is a thing I found on Blogger that allows you to make money off of your blog. I didn’t know this when I made it but it sounds like a good idea because I love to write.

Does anybody here have a blog and know how I can spread the word of my blog and make money? Tips please. Thank you.

Some other blogs have figured out how to make their blogs adjust to different screen resolutions, to fit the screen of the view best. While mine just looks tiny on bigger ones 1600×900 etc.

Does anyone know how to do this? How to get a blog to adjust to the screen resolution?

Can I customize it to what I want? Basically how do you get started? What do you do after you have started it? Any help would be appreciated!

I would like to increase my subscription list, as well as get my blog added to other people’s subscriptions lists. I can’t figure out how, if possible, to search for blogs on Blogger! It’s frustrating…I just wanted to put in key words of things I’m interested in to see what type of blogs come up. I found a way to subscribe to business’ feeds, but not other individuals’.
