I’ve only ever worked for my family, firstly as a sales assistant in a family run shoe shop in school and uni holidays etc for 6 years and once I graduated from uni with an art degree, I worked for my fathers small online retail company as the technical girl building websites using photoshop dreamweaver, html php etc. The only problem is I now want to move on and work in an office environment around other people as only working for my dad for the past 5 years or so since finishing uni Im starting to feel quite depressed in that I want a real career working for someone else and earning a lot more which I can’t achieve working for my dads small internet business. Its a new business is not yet making much money and I feel ive given it all I can having finished the website and now just partake in the general maintaining and running of his ebay shop.

The problem I’m having is just not having enough confidence to get my cv sorted and apply for other jobs. I want to apply for I.T web based jobs as this is what I’ve been doing for the past 5 years. Only problem is im self taught, have no official i.t qualifications and my only references are my dad and my uncle from where I worked at the family shop.

I know which i.t stills I have and I know I have so much too offer but I just feel only having my dad and uncle as references and not having worked for a long established i.t company I have little chance of people taking me seriosuly but I have so many skills and no way of really proving it.

So if any one can can offer me any advice of what I should perhaps say in my cv to reassure potential employers can rely on me and to persuade them to interview me I would really appreciate it. I think I’m just lacking in self esteem and confidence at the moment and just need to get out into the working world as its what I want more than anything, I’m just finding it hard trying to make that move and apply for jobs. I just feel my cv won’t look great having only worked for family businesses and so people will think my references will be biast. Which isn’t fair as I know I just have so much to give. I’ve taught myself how to use all kinds of software, make websites, use photoshop, sell things, buy stock for the retail website, deal with customers and generally run and organise things with my dad I just feel It will be hard proving this to employers in my cv.

    Help please! 🙂

The essay is for E-business and I am meant to discuss an airline of my choice and evaluate their business model and customer interfaces. My introduction is as follows:

Critically evaluate easyjets online business model and customer interfaces (I need to achieve 40% overall to pass module).

The late 1990’s marked a period in business history during which stock markets in the western world saw their value increase rapidly from growth in the new internet sector and related fields. The internet had a colossal effect on the way in which we communicate and connectivity put more power into the hands of customers than ever before. Thus many businesses were forced to re-evaluate their business model (simply referring to the way in which they generate profits) and adopt a more customer-orientated approach.

As a result of these changes in the technological environment, the study of E-business has vastly increased in importance in recent years. Customers now expect companies, where possible, to provide a similar service online as well as offline. Business organisations are simply required to establish an online presence to remain competitive and E-business provides the basic theory needed for businesses to prosper in the online environment.

We may at first make the assumption that E-business simply refers to the buying and selling of goods in an online environment but this is certainly not the case. E-Business has a much broader definition than one may initially imagine. It includes online buying and selling but is not solely restricted to it, as it also refers to the use of internet-based technologies for information sharing and communication between suppliers, manufacturers and customers.

The internet hosts a myriad of benefits to the firm that strictly tends to its online strategy and may even become the source of a differential advantage. As an example, electronic storefronts operate all the time so sales can occur around the clock, generating much more profitable business for business organisations. Moreover, there are no overheads in running a website so a firm can vastly improve its marketing in a much more profitable manner.

We wish to discuss an airline company that reflects these benefits, which is why we have chosen easyJet to form the basis of our assignment. The aim is three-fold:

    1. To critically evaluate easyJet’s online business model and customer interfaces

    2. To discuss how easyJet distinguishes itself from its competitors

    3. To make recommendations as to how easyJet can improve its online strategy.

I think it seems like its not addressing the question as much as it should but I just need to get a half decent mark
Thanks for your answer lynciel. I am writing that way because it is a piece of work for a group assignment.

Somebody help me. I am so distressed and confused.
This is the story : several months ago I decided to find a way to make money from Internet. I got familiar with Google adsense and decided to focus on that. In addition, at that time I did’nt have much information about work-at-home websites, but later I got familiar with them too, and I heard that despite the fact that many of them are scam, you can make money with some of them.
Now I do not know which one to choose. because I want to choose one way to focus on it. Some people say Adsense is good and some say work-at-home websites are better.
I beg you help me choose one of them to focus on.

I am getting a chocolate Labrador, and I found some breeders on the Kennel Club website and I need to write an email to a person I have never met before about buying a dog from the breeder.

    In the email I should probably need to include;

    – Do you have any puppies for sale left?
    – How much are you selling the puppies for?
    – Would I be able to visit the puppy before I buy it?

If anyone else thinks I should include something or to write something else, all suggestions are really appreciated.

Which would most likely generate more profits? Also, is there anybody or companies who has websites where they get more money off their own websites than E-Bay? The only bad thing I see about going on E-Bay is it’s your first business and you want to show everyone your website and how successful it is….Like…”Yeah, I did that!…Look!” With E-Bay it’s already someone else’s website and you’re not really going to get the recognition you deserve.

I co-own a house with one other person (not a spouse). I want to sell the house and move away, but she doesn’t. Legally I can’t force her to sell, but I’ve heard I can sell my portion of the equity to someone else so they will become part owner instead. Can this be done? What sorts of people/organizations would make such an investment? How big a discount would I have to give the buyer off of the equity?

Professional answers please. If you have no knowledge about this please do not answer.
