Selecting an appropriate blogging platform is very important

Blogging may be an easy thing to do for those who are interested to get involved, but the real power behind blogging is the blog platform that you choose to write and publish your posts. Believe me, you would not want a platform that does not conform to your expectations or does not deliver the “goods”, so to speak. When you decide to start your own blog, there are many choices to be made. The very first choice is which platform to use. You’ll need to determine whether you would prefer a hosted or non-hosted blog platform.

Below I am listing the top five blogging platforms with a little of their details. Choose the one you think is right for you and be part of the huge blogging network today.

WordPress: WordPress is the blogging platform that you can compare with Blogger in multiple ways. Let’s say that if Blogger was to be the most popular blogging platform right now, then WordPress would surely be the runner-up. Just like Blogger, WordPress is free as well and it is very simple to use. However, WordPress can be slightly difficult in technical terms therefore beginners can have a little complications when they start. However, when you have a WordPress blog, many user-friendly features and options can be used to make yourself a great blog; you can even take help from the tutorials available.

Blogger: The blogging platform from Google, known as BlogSpot or more commonly as Blogger. This blogging platform is highly user friendly as you expect Google to be. The popularity of Blogger is at the peak right now; many claim Blogger to be the best platform for blogging out of all. You can make your blog on this platform for free. Since Blogger was the very first platform made for blogging, it is the simplest of all to use.

Squidoo: If you have heard about HubPages, Squidoo is pretty similar to it; you will find it working as if you are on a social networking website. Lenses can be created that are pages for various topics; these can be linked to other lenses or linked together with each other. After a little while of using it, this platform becomes user friendly and the user can easily understand each and every feature of it. Blog over this platform can be made for free as well. Squidoo is preferred a lot in case you want to make money from your blog.

HubPages: As I mentioned before, HubPages is similar to a social networking website like Squidoo and not just a blogging platform. It is nothing like WordPress or Blogger, different. Being free to use, HubPages is considered to be the best platform for making money with blogging giving many additional options that come handy in this case.

TypePad: If you are looking for a traditional blogging platform, TypePad is the one. It will cost you a little unlike many other platforms. Features available will depend on what package you get. It is easy to use and even beginners can use this with confidence.

I recently started a blog, and I was just wondering how people have promoted their blogs online to get more followers so you aren’t just typing to nothing out in the internet?
Oh, and for my blog, I don’t really want my friends to be my followers, unless they find it on their own. My blog is about something that most of my friend’s can’t really help me with. (Photography is the main subject)

I know how to reblog to my second blog already. But whenever i reblog something to it, on the notes on the original post it shows up as my main blog. I know I sound like an idiot and confusing.

So basically I reblog something to my fitness blog and I go look on the original post and it says
“mypersonalblog” reblogged this post but I want it to say “myfitnessblog” reblogged this post.

Does that make sense and is that even possible?

It would be great if I could post text and pics to the blog from my cell (iPhone). Maybe even video??

I’m new at the whole blog thing, so it really would need to be free and pretty easy to use.

    THANKS!

I’m an aspiring writer-of all literary trades (journalism, screen writing, satire, etc)-but I want to start a blog for some adult oriented, romantic fantasy literature. Anyone know how I can start a blog that will allow me to do this? I believe I’ll need a warning page before entrance, and I want it to come up on search engines.

I’m creating a new blog about literature ( what I’ve read, what I’m reading), but I’m having trouble thinking of a title. I like the idea of something having to do with an obsession with literature but I think bookophilia is on the average side. What do you think of Litophilia? Is it too similar to “lithophilia” Which means the love of stones? Any ideas? Thanks!

I’m looking into moving my current blog from blogspot to a self hosted wordpress. My current blog isn’t a domain name, and I’m curious as to how to go about getting old links to forward to the new self hosted wordpress blog once I start it.
Say someone comes across my blogspot blog article in a google search and they click it. I’d like it to link them to the new wordpress blog, but bring them directly to the article they clicked on as to not have any confusion.

I am about to start a blog. Along with many other hopeful’s, I hope to eventually make money off it. I noticed a lot of sites do not allow you to make money of google ad sense and things like that. What are some sites I can start my blog on that will allow this since it seems to be the most profitable way to make money off a blog?

I want to blog about issues I don’t want associating with my ‘work’ self. How do I choose a blog host that has a good anonymity record, in other words, I don’t want it to be easy for people to match up my IP address or access my personal details.
Also, having set the blog up, how do you encourage high volume visitors?
I’ve only used LJ before and I want to try something a bit different, but anonymity is the biggest issue for me. Would welcome suggestions of good free blog hosts.

What are your standards of success for a blog? Readership? Quality? Is there a relationship between readership and quality?

What did people with successful blogs do to make them successful? Was it a kind of “if you build it, they will come” thing? Do they actively market themselves? Do they associate themselves with other famous bloggers or websites? How does it happen?

Do you have a blog? What do you do with your blog? Do you consider yourself successful? Why?

I am creating a website for an aspiring rapper. I am trying to decide the best & (hopefully FREE) blogging tool that is sophisticated enough to post music & videos but simple enough for him to update himself when I am not available. It will be used to share info about his upcoming events, projects, merchandise, etc.

I’ve used cutenews for my graphic design site, but I’m not sure if that will be efficient enough for a musician. Thank you in advance.
